Heathers and Ground Cover Plants
Here at Ingatestone we carry a comprehensive range of plants for ground cover. We also have a range of Heathers which may also be used as ground cover.

Ground cover plants can be in the form of spreading shrubs, perennial plants, Junipers or climbing plants allowed to scramble over the ground.

Advice on suitable ground cover, planting distances etc. is readily available from our experienced plantsmen and our informative bed cards and labels.

Our range of Heathers include types to provide interest the year round.

Different varieties produce flowers for all the seasons even in the deepest winter. Other varieties have coloured foliage throughout the year or as the name implies, Spring Tips produce colourful new growth in the spring. For best effect, Heathers are best planted in groups of at least three plants, 1ft apart. They also make useful plants for tubs, containers and winter baskets. It is important to add peat when planting and ericaceous compost in containers, as heathers prefer acid conditions.

We stock a full range of composts and sundries to ensure you get the best results from your planting.

If you require a plant that we normally stock, but it is temporarily unavailable you can leave your plant request together with your contact details. We will then contact you when the plant is available.
